The Brief
HAY, the Danish designer furniture and lifestyle brand, opened its Shanghai store with the aim of creating a retail environment that reflected its design-led identity. They engaged us as their visual merchandising lighting agency to craft a scheme that enhanced the shopping experience, showcased products with precision, and worked seamlessly with their visual merchandising.
The brief also called for lighting solutions that could simulate different times of day to complement product stories and seasonal displays.
The Outcome
We designed the store’s entire retail and visual merchandising lighting system, developing unique setups to simulate both day and night environments. This flexibility allowed HAY to present its products in varied contexts, adding depth to the brand experience. Custom lighting systems were created to illuminate product displays and key merchandising features, ensuring every texture, colour, and form was shown at its best.
